Kimberly is the founding BCBA of Little Steps, Big Leaps. She began her career in ABA in 1998, working as a 1:1 instructor to a child with Autism in a home program. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2002 with a double major in Psychology and Recreation Therapy. She taught public school for one year in a special education classroom before moving on to private instruction and program development for children with Autism and related disabilities at a private school. She completed a certificate program in Behavior Analysis through the University of North Texas and was certified as a Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA) in 2006. Upon certification, Kimberly worked as a Clinic Supervisor and Program Coordinator at an ABA practice providing clinic, school, and home based services until 2014. Kimberly returned to graduate school and completed her masters degree in Psychology with a concentration in Behavior Analysis in 2013 and became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in 2014.
She founded Little Steps, Big Leaps in 2014 to provide individualized ABA services for children with autism and related disorders. She takes pride in maintaining a small business that personalizes care and maintains quality.
In her personal time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, four children, and many pets.
Amy DeMuth has been working in the field of behavior analysis for over 15 years. Her undergraduate work was completed at Penn State University where she graduated in 2003 with a major in Psychology and Anthropology. She worked at the Mariposa School for Children with Autism and the Carolina Center for Behavior Analysis as a Registered Behavior Technician before joining Little Steps, Big Leaps in 2015.
Amy completed graduate school at Kaplan University in 2016 where she also became a part of Psi Chi, The International Honors Society in Psychology. In 2017, she became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
While Amy excels with children of all skill sets, she specializes in social skills deficits related to high functioning autism and ADHD. She is a PEERS® for Adolescents Certified Provider and PEERS® Certified Telehealth Provider. Her other accomplishments include a certificate in Applied Animal Behavior from the University of Washington.
When not at work, you can find Amy hard at work with the Triangle Beagle Rescue or spending time with her own three dogs and her husband.
Jennifer Gioia received her bachelor's degree in Psychology at Florida State University and her master’s degree in Developmental Disabilities, with a concentration in Applied Behavior Analysis, at the Nova Southeastern University.
Jennifer has 6 years of experience in the field and is committed to providing high quality, evidence-based services to children with developmental disabilities and their families. Prior to moving to North Carolina in 2019, she spent the last 3 years at the Marcus Autism Center as a Clinical Specialist in the Language and Learning Clinic. There, she supervised staff within the Home-based Program, Community Autism Program, and 1:1 Clinic Program. She also provided training and supervision for full-time staff, undergraduates, and graduate-level trainees.
Jennifer is passionate about finding the right fit for her clients to give them every advantage in order to reach their goals. When not with clients, she enjoys trying new restaurants, reading, and spending time at home and outdoors.

Laurie is the operations manager for LSBL. She obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Daemen College in NY and went on to earn her Master’s Degree in Special Education from Georgia College and State University. She taught elementary, as well as middle school-aged children with special needs, in public school systems in NY, GA and NC for a total of 11 years. After working in the classroom, she became a Special Education Program Facilitator for the Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools where she worked with parents, teachers and other service providers to develop Individual Education Plans to help students reach their educational, behavioral, and social goals.
In 2017, Laurie obtained NC certification to work as a Developmental Therapist and provided individualized therapy in home and in community settings to young children and their families. She joined the Little Steps, Big Leaps team in 2019.
